Our Values.

Jaguar + Thistle is a small family business and a labor of love. We honor the earth and our ancestors, and while we recognize that running a completely ethical business under our broken system is impossible, we strive to run our business in a way that is loving and respectful of mother earth and all her creatures.

Justice & healing: Jaguar and Thistle believes in justice and seeks to help our community heal. We try — within a deeply broken system — to live our values, build racial and gender justice and work towards the liberation of all people. How? We support the work of Political Healers and other organizations working for justice. We pay rent to the Duwamish tribe on whose land we live. We provide our healing products at reduced cost or donated to Black, Indigenous, healers of color and to low-income community members. If you would like to request donated or lower-cost products, email us at info@jaguarthistle.com! We are also happy to share our recipes if you want to make something for your own use. We’ve put time and effort into perfecting our craft, but we don’t own the medicines in plants or the recipes created by generations of people and we’re happy to share what we’ve learned with you.

Our suppliers: We source our products and materials from organic, fair trade, and BIPOC owned producers whenever possible. Our suppliers and criteria change as we learn and grow, but if you want to know about a particular supplier, just ask!

Our impact: We strive to lighten our impact on the earth. We are constantly evaluating our processes and practices to create less waste, use less energy, and align with our values.

Our packaging: You may see that our packaging is a bit “eccentric” - our jars and packing materials may not always match because we try to re-use packaging and source our jars from second hand stores when we can. If we buy jars or packing materials, we buy biodegradable and renewable packaging materials. If you got plastic in your package, it’s because someone sent it to us and we are reusing it. We encourage you to do the same.
