About Me
I’ve spent more than 20 years fighting for justice and building people-power as an organizer, narrative strategist, political operative, writer, policy wonk, program manager, and political healer. I’ve worn a lot of hats - including policy director, communications director, and training director for national movement organizations. I love to take on projects that don’t fit neatly in one box, that require some creativity, and that are grounded in face-to-face organizing. I think radical imagination is critical and I believe that liberation and healing can only truly be done collectively. As a white queer femme from a bilingual and bicultural family, I know my work must always begin and end with dismantling structural white supremacy.
I’ve worked on a wide variety of issues including immigration, environmental justice, housing justice, abolition and decarceration, labor organizing, gender and reproductive justice, ending payday lending, taking on big corporations and the wealthiest few, medicare for all, and more. I’ve spent the last ten years especially focused on how base-led movement organizations can win real change through the political and policy process. As a proud Political Healer, I’m always thinking about how ritual and public memory shape what’s possible and I’m committed to centering the vision and leadership of womxn of color in our movements.
I’m always happy to nerd out about anything from poetry to herbal remedies to obscure Congressional procedure to fan fiction (I think fan fiction is an incredible political tool and I’ll die on that hill). I’m the mom of two incredible tiny humans and I live on unceded Duwamish territory in Seattle, WA with my partner, my kids, my suegra, and two naughty puppies.
